4 Ways Democrats Showed Their True Colors During #Up4Climate All Nighter

Monday night, Democrat senators concerned with “climate change,” “global warming,” and “carbon pollution” shared their thoughts all night on the Senate floor, emitting more CO2 with every word.

Democrats had plenty of time to show their true colors during the nearly 15-hour event.  The Senate majority leader Harry Reid showed how intolerant they truly are.  They showed how oblivious they are to what is a truly pressing issue today: dealing with the burgeoning debt that is so harmful to the U.S. economy.  They showed how desperate they are to convince Republicans they’re wrong to focus on energy production and job creation.  They showed that they have no idea what Americans really care about: the economy and jobs.

1. So Tolerant!

“It’s time to stop acting like those who ignore [the climate change] crisis… have a valid point of view.” — Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV) 13%

2. So Concerned with Future Generations!

“We are in severe jeopardy. It is time for us to get out of our lethargy and recognize the problem that is happening in front of our very eyes.” — Sen. Bill Nelson (D-FL) 2%

3. So Cozy with Republicans!

“Right now what we need is a Republican dance partner.” — Sen. Brian Schatz (D-HI) 5%

4. Such Great Priorities!

“We have a simple message for all Americans: We’re not going to rest until Congress acts on the most pressing issue of our time.” — Sen. Brian Schatz (D-HI) 5%

Interestingly, vulnerable Senate Democrats like Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-LA)Sen. Mark Begich (D-AK)Sen. Kay Hagan (D-NC)Sen. Mark Pryor (D-AR), and Sen. John Walsh (D-MT) were not directly involved in the event.

If Americans are so eager for Washington to pass bills and regulations designed to prevent “global warming” and stifle energy creation, what did these Democrats have to fear by participating?

Maybe, just maybe, they’re aware “global warming” doesn’t even rank on the list of priorities Americans have for 2014.

Legislation that removes barriers for energy production of all kinds would foster job creation and keep America competitive in today’s economy.  But As Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) 94% said at Heritage Action’s Conservative Policy Summit, “in Harry Reid’s Senate, jobs and economic growth don’t even make it onto the agenda.”

Moreover, as Heritage Foundation experts explain:

Regardless of what one believes about the impact of climate change, legislation and regulations allegedly addressing global warming have negligible environmental impacts at high costs and limit individual freedom and consumer choice.

These Democrats need to start working for the American people.  It’s as though these politicians’ pockets are being lined by green-energy lobbyists and funded by environmentalist groups… Oh wait…
