The Best of the Forge

Throughout the debate about how to stop Obamacare — or for the Left, how to keep it on proverbial life support — liberals in the media have offered their unsolicited, generally terrible advice to the GOP about what Republican lawmakers need to do the keep their party afloat — or rather, for Congress to reemerge from their historic low approval rating of 12 percent.  All of their outlandish notions can be boiled down to a simple suggestion:  Republicans, cave on your principles.

Heritage Action CEO Mike Needham recently explained on C-SPAN’s Newsmakers that Republicans should act on principle and honor the promises they made when they were elected to stop Obamacare.

WATCH: Sen. Ted Cruz Defends Defund Strategy on FOXNEWS

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) 100% explained Thursday on FoxNews that “no Washington politician can win this fight.”  He was speaking in reference to the conservative strategyto stop Obamacare from becoming entrenched by defunding the law entirely on a must-pass spending bill and funding the government.

That’s why a grassroots army needs to form to oppose the law.

Dave Winston Polling a Straw Man

Nearly three weeks ago, Winston asked 1,000 registered voters if they favored or opposed the following: “Some members of Congress have proposed shutting down the government as a way to defund the president’s health care law.”

No members of Congress are advocating such a strategy.  It is common knowledge that shutting down the government would not defund Obamacare, which is why those pushing to defund Obamacare are also pushing to fund the government.  In short, Winston has conducted a poll based on a straw man argument that Republican leaders will now use to fight conservatives, thereby preserving Obamacare.

Obamacare Hits Young Adults’ Wallets Hard

The Left has a reputation for being good at advertising.  They’ve worked hard to sell Obamacare to young people even though young people will be hurt the most by the destructive law.  Or have they?

The Washington Free Beacon reports that the government is now handing out cash prizes for young people to make pro-Obamacare promotional videos.

Hey, maybe that will help them pay for government mandated insurance policies they can’t afford because they can’t find work in an Obama economy.

“We’re In This for the Founding Principles of the Country”

Heritage Action CEO Michael A. Needham had some very inspiring words for the American people on C-SPAN’s Newsmakers Sunday when asked why folks in America should support Heritage Action for America:

One of the few groups that’s actually going to come into town and say, ‘Hey, look, we’re not here on the side of big business, we’re not here on the side of big labor, we’re certainly not here on the side of big government, we’re here on the side of the American people who want to be educated, who want what’s best for their country, and want to hold their member of Congress accountable”
