Obama Speaks to Planned Parenthood: Actions Speak Louder Than Words
I’m sorry, President Obama. But it’s true. Actions speak much, much louder than words. So when you say things like:
If there’s even one thing we can do, if there’s just one life we can save – we’ve got an obligation to try. #NowIsTheTime
It’s very hard to trust your sincerity.
You are the first sitting president to address Planned Parenthood, and you’re timing is impeccable. You’ll be addressing the Planned Parenthood crowd while Dr. Kermit Gosnell is on trial for the murder of roughly 100 living babies, not to mention the thousands of babies he killed in the womb throughout his “career.”
Our nation is yearning for the truth to be revealed about the Gosnell trial in the mainstream media. Kermit Gosnell is a man who murdered babies outside their mothers’ wombs and he’s also responsible for the deaths of grown women.
But you wouldn’t be able to tell by looking at Gosnell: there hasn’t been any evidence of remorse in his placid countenance while he’s been on trial.
Are you aware, Mr. President, that a lobbyist for Planned Parenthood has defended post-birth abortions?
No matter what you say about ‘women’s health’ or ‘women’s rights,’ nothing will remove the fact that you are overtly and explicitly supporting an organization that killed – murdered – 333,964 precious American babies last year alone. Over the past three years, they have murdered an estimated 1 million American babies.
As Heritage points out, half of all abortions are performed on minority women. Given a chance, those children might otherwise have grown up to contribute in wonderful ways to our nation’s legacy. But their lives were snuffed out by the workers at Planned Parenthood.
Of course, much of this was enabled by taxpayer dollars. You see, while Planned Parenthood has performed their record number of abortions, they’ve received 45 percent of their revenues from taxpayer-funded government sources.
Last year, like many before it, Planned Parenthood saw a very comfortable income, reporting excess revenues exceeding $87 million and net assets of more than $1.2 billion.
In the face of large surpluses and increased abortions, supporters and activists are still quick to point to the provision of other services to justify continued and expanded federal funding of the organization. But a closer look at Planned Parenthood’s own report and actions still point to a strong emphasis on abortion procedures.
While Planned Parenthood affiliates performed a record number of abortions in 2011, the organization made only 2,300 adoption referrals and provided fewer than 30,000 prenatal services.Roughly 40 percent of the organization’s reported contraceptive services last year were the provision of more than 1.4 million emergency contraception kits, which many believe can cause an abortion in early pregnancy.
These actions, Mr. President, speak louder than any words you utter today.
