Driving the Week Recap: FTAs, A-PLUS

Thanks to the incredible work of conservatives like you, not only did the three free trade agreements with South Korea, Colombia and Panama pass, but we’ve picked up co-sponsors on an important piece of legislation: the A-Plus Act.

Your encouragement led to no less than 12 Members of Congress switching their votes from a “no” to a “yes” on the agreement with South Korea.

And thanks to you, momentum is building behind the A-PLUS Act, which would allow states to opt out of federal education programs as they see fit so that they can better decide what’s best for their children. For too long, big-government, top-down education programs have ran up the national debt without raising test scores. A-PLUS is the first comprehensive reform that puts education back in the hands of state and local governments as well as parents so that children can succeed. We would like to thank the following Members of Congress for signing on to this important legislation:

The Senate:

• Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT)

The House:

• Rep. Richard Hanna (R-NY)
• Rep. Cory Gardner (R-CO)
• Rep. Sean Duffy (R-WI)
• Rep. Chip Cravaack (R-MN)
• Rep. John Shimkus (R-IL)
• Rep. Tom Marino (R-PA)

With your help, we’ll continue to hold Members of Congress accountable.
