Driving the Day: An Unhappy Anniversary

Obamacare is officially one-year old.  For many Americans, the past year only affirmed what they already knew – the law would increase costs, decrease choice, raise taxes and compound our debt crisis.  When he signed this health care bill into law, President Obama said, “In a few moments, when I sign this bill, all of the overheated rhetoric over reform will finally confront the reality of reform.”  The reality contradicts liberal rhetoric and validates the arguments made by American people.

For informed observers – including those who read the bill and went to town hall meetings – these side effects were not unexpected.  As CNN points out, time has not changed how Americans view the law.  As soon as the political process catches up to the American people, repeal can become a reality and we can move towards a reform that empowers individuals, not Washington bureaucrats.
