House Passes CR

Early this morning, the House voted to pass H.R.1, the CR which would fund the government for the remainder of the fiscal year.

From the POLITICO:

After a sometimes grueling debate stretching over parts of five days, the House passed H.R. 1, the continuing appropriations act, by a vote of 235-189. The gavel fell at 4:40 a.m. Three Republicans voted against the bill and no Democrats voted for it. It would fund government departments, agencies and programs through Sept. 30. It cuts at least $61 billion from current spending levels — the figure it reached before the amendment process. Reps. Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.), Walter Jones (R-N.C.) and John Campbell (R-Calif.) were the only three who crossed party lines.

As Heritage Action’s CEO Michael A. Needham said yesterday, this bill “takes an important first step forward, we know they can and must do more if America is to remain an exceptional nation.”
