Sunday Show Preview – Previewing the State of the Union
This week’s Sunday shows will focus, primarily, on the President’s upcoming State of the Union Address.
As Heritage Action’s CEO said in an email Friday, the state of our Union is strong. On November 2, the American people – led by a Tea Party movement of principled, constitutional conservatives – rose up and, with a unified voice, rejected the business-as-usual approach in Washington that has taken our country off course. On that day, we won the first battle in a long war for the heart and soul of our country. This year, the war moves from elections to policy.
Key things to watch this week: will conservatives in the House force a showdown on the debt limit; will the Senate try to rubber stamp the President’s spending agenda; and will Senate Republicans fight for a repeal vote.
On CBS’s “Face the Nation,” Bob Schieffer will have exclusive interviews with Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) and Sen. Charles Schumer (R-NY).
On FOX’s “Fox News Sunday,” Chris Wallace will have exclusive interviews with Sen. Mitch McConell (R-KY) and Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL).
On NBC’s “Meet the Press,” David Gregory will have exclusive interview with House Republican Leader Eric Cantor.
On ABCs “This Week,” Christiane Amanpour will discuss the political climate with retiring Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-TX), Sen. Kent Conrad (D-ND) and Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-CT).
